Damaris Joi
If you ask her “what she does”- you may get a short response like “I’m a graphic designer”or a “I build websites”, depending on her mood and audience. In reality, Damaris fuses a diverse set of multimedia skills ranging from audio & video production to user experience (UX) & interior design to bring brand identities to life.
After receiving her Masters in Communication (Advertising) from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Atlanta) in 2015, Damaris has found her “sweet spot” is branding. Working with clients to identify WHY they do the work they do fuels how she designs and develops consistent branding.
At her core is a passion to compose and produce music as a singer, songwriter.
Damaris credits her multimedia storytelling to her multicultural upbringing in a Ghanaian-Mexican household while raised in “The South”, (North Carolina, USA). “I’ve always seen multiple perspectives growing up. As a first generation American, and an Afro-Latina, I respect and appreciate the details in diversity, which influences my perspective with music & design.”
